Built with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, this Dallas home has a modern look with natural materials and features that bring the outdoors inside.
The property at 5645 Stonegate Road was completed in 2020 and has plenty of environmentally friendly features, like Tesla solar panels, drought-resistant landscaping and high-efficiency systems, windows and lighting. The home was on the 2021 AIA Dallas Tour of Homes.
The home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half-bathroom in 4,145 square feet of space. Listing agent Valerie Van Pelt of Compass said the home’s most unique feature is its sustainable design. The home has received multiple certifications, including a platinum LEED certification, for its energy-efficient features and sustainable design elements.
“A platinum LEED home is considered the greenest of all homes,” Van Pelt said.
She said that the homeowner wanted to bring outdoor elements inside the home. There are planters indoors that add greenery to the spaces and the use of sliding doors makes it easy to create an indoor-outdoor living area. The home was constructed with sustainable practices, and construction waste was reused or recycled, Van Pelt said.
The home is one level and has an open concept design that allows for easy flow between the kitchen and living room. Most of the rooms have large windows with views of the 0.44-acre property, which was landscaped with drought-resistant plants. There is a double-sided fireplace embedded in a wall that divides two living spaces. The kitchen has a sleek, monochromatic look with built-in gray cabinets and gray-toned countertops. There’s a large window behind the sink.
The home’s outdoor spaces include an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, a grill and a fireplace. The covered patio has enough space for two seating areas and a dining area, and the space is equipped with mosquito netting. The home also has a four-car garage.
The home is on the market for $3,299,500.
